High School students in Jefferson County
Colorado are up in arms over an Advanced Placement History Curriculum that wants
to promote patriotism, the benefits of free enterprise and the cessation of
promoting civil disorder and instead stressing civic responsibility. For many in
the media this has been deemed "controversial" and Media Matters for America, a
progressive, left wing Soros funded entity which blames Fox News for this
controversy, has moved in to ratchet up the discontent over efforts to stimulate
love of country.
These students are pawns yet again in the
multi generational crusade to portray the U. S. as a bad country and the source
of evil both domestically and in foreign affairs.
Advocates for the new curriculum say
historic figures such as Franklin, Jefferson, Martin Luther King and Madison are
currently minimized while the wars against the Indians, the Black Panther Party,
slavery (without any mention of the Gettysburg Address) and the dropping of the
A bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki are prominent. In fact the question is asked
with regard to the latter "Does this makes you question the values of America!"
Are these people kidding? Do they have
any historical perspective or knowledge whatsoever as to what the country had
gone through during WW II or the bloody sacrifices to free black Americans in
bondage of the American Civil War? It is difficult to impossible to believe
they want balance or objectivity.
Our children are in an American style "cultural revolution". They are marching in lockstep around a force fed narrative that equates themes like love of country with crimes against humanity.

The Left in America has been brilliant in
cloaking their hatred of country etc. in moral indignation and revolutionary
cool. Being "edgy" and "hip" has and probably always will be intoxicating to
rebellious youth. After all what good is a society when you are young if it
shouldn't be overthrown with Utopian blather?
We live in a epoch of the phony
intelligentsia who are able to construct "mind clouds" of what appears to be
intellectual profundity enunciated by supposed geniuses but is instead is as
consequential as a visit to an opium den.
The arts in particular, to paraphrase
Marshall McLuhan are" mediums with a message". We have now passed through
decades of cool music, film, art and literature with left wing political
messaging that help make you into a knee jerk radical. The opera "The Death of
Klinghoffer" is one morally relative and disgusting piece of supposed left
wing art that heralds itself as an objective look at both sides of a complex
question. It apparently is not clear to the left that when you shoot a
disabled Jewish man in his sixties in the head and throw him and his wheelchair
into the Mediterranean, nothing justifies such an act!
The effect of the arts of course can be
intensely personal and the left has also been incredibly successful in
reducing everything important in life to the impact on the self rather than to
the consequences to the society or the nation as a whole. A society and nation
it should be remembered, that has to live freely, efficiently, productively and
safely under laws and values shared by all in order to be successful. The
ironic end result of this persistent campaign is a mind numbing conformity to a
new society with diametrically opposite values and mores to that which came
before.
Alienation also still sells in 21st
century “Amerika”, even when it is a luxury that most of the non developing
world or for that matter, most hardworking people every where, cannot afford.
Alienation in truth, is the beginning of the end of the individual survival
instinct which has always sought safety in numbers along with the mechanisms
and structures that guarantee freedom in a violent world. Instead the
mechanisms now sought have become trade offs of personal freedoms and
intellectual integrity in exchange for a false safety and total obedience.
But when the world only appears vicious
and deadly in the same way a film or a video game makes it appear, its shifting
confines rarely translates into the reality of daily life. This becomes an
escape into the “self” through fictional means which then devolves into highly
personalized politics and culture shared by a collective. It inoculates one
from having to worry or even ponder about the darkest or most complex
possibilities of the real human condition because on some sub conscious
level it's still just a game. This collective brain washing has become an
entertainment universe that leaves little time for negotiating a far more
nuanced real world. It also tragically blots out the beauty and
spirituality of real life and leaves the so called rebel having to reinvent a
limited and limiting world from scratch as if no one else had ever lived
.
The great irony of all of the above is
that this great 21st century rebellion is in reality for and not against the new
progressive status quo. The real rebels today are those involved in trying to
restore the limited government and the inalienable rights that limited
government is supposed to protect as its principal obligation. The real
revolution is the one to protect the person from the tentacles of a government
that lives to gain dominion over every aspect of our life and force us into a
collective where our futures are preordained.
You must ask yourself why anyone who is
sane or mature, would fight for or defend a government of bureaucratic overlords
who would micro-manage everything one does, says or thinks. This new real
revolution is for common sense, economic and religious freedom, basic decency
and tolerance, historic time tested and true values and the sanctity of
individual liberty over all else. The left has both fooled us and themselves
that they are the rebels but they are wrong. They are merely the rebels
without a clue.
